LAKE BALBOA – One man was shot as he sat at a restaurant near Birmingham High School as students walked home from school, police said. The 23-year-old man was shot in the leg and elbow by two Latino males who approached him as he sat at a Jack In The Box Restaurant on Vanowen Street, just east of Balboa Boulevard, said LAPD Sgt. Teresa Wilson. Details are sketchy in the 3:25 p.m. attack and police initially received a call that some males “shot at students as they were walking by (nearby Millies) restaurant,” said LAPD Sgt. Teresa Wilson. Police described the suspects in the shooting as two Latino males. No other details were available. last_img
